OKWAF US - Ghana Education Campaign - Godson Sowah (Ghana)

Project Goal: $15,500

Current Progress: $3,420 (22.00%)

The Oseadeeyo Kwasi Akuffo Foundation (OKWAF) based in the US was established under the aspiration of the current and 26th king of the Akuapem kingdom, a collection of cities and townships in the Eastern Region of Ghana.  As part of the Foundation's mission to create opportunities for mutual economic, educational, and eco-tourism benefits between local communities in Ghana and the US.

In partnership with Books For Africa, the Foundation seeks to establish community libraries in low income neighborhoods, providing a conducive environment for childhood reading and young adult development. Additionally the donated books will help build capacity for local teachers, instructors and tutors who need training materials and resources to support the youth in their communities and schools.

A central distribution center will store and coordinate the distribution of the donated books to over 25 elementary and high schools.

Your financial donation will help get the right books into a library or classroom or living room, where a child or youth is eager to learn and experience the world, one page at a time!
