Dr. Nadine Ndonghan Iyangui of the Université Omar Bongo’s Mapping and Graphics Library (Laboratoire de Graphique et de Cartographie) and LCDR Cornell Sinclair (center) of the US Navy Maritime Partnership Program are ready to distribute books. Thanks to a partnership between the U.S. Navy and Books For Africa, books have been delivered for schools and libraries in Port Gentil and Libreville, Gabon.

Through Project Handclasp, the U.S. Navy works with NGOs like Books For Africa to deliver relief supplies worldwide. Ten pallets of books from BFA were delivered by the U.S. Navy to students who need them to advance their study of English.

“I am organizing an English Club for Geographers [with these books]” said Nadine Iyangui of Université Omar BONGO, who coordinated the book distribution in Gabon, “There [are] many books our students will be able to use to learn English. Thank you very much!”

Special thanks go to LAGRAC (Labrotoire de Graphique et de Cartographie/the Mapping and Graphics Labrotory) at the Université Omar Bongo for facilitating this shipment.Students of Université Omar Bongo break down pallets to place in LAGRAC (Mapping and Graphics Laboratory) at the Université Omar Bongo.
