Gambia: One Million Books for Gambia Reaches NBR

NBR — Hand In Health, an NGO based in Minnesota in the United States in partnership with Books For Africa, Wednesday morning commenced the distribution of one million books to various schools in the North Bank Region (NBR).

The distribution is meant to implement the 'one million books project' which will increase the current literacy rate among women and children.

The beneficiary schools are: Anglican Mission School, Farafenni Lower Basic and Farafenni Upper Basic School. They all received cartons of books from Books For Africa organisation. The distribution took the form of a walk from Bamba Tenda to Farafenni Lower Basic School, led by the Nigerian high commissioner to The Gambia,Her Excellency Esther John Audu;the regional education Directorate Region Four, Sait Saine and students.
