Books Distributed in Banjul
A 40-foot container of reference books recently arrived in Banjul, The Gambia, for distribution to the Banjul National Library and schools across the city. Banjul City Council staff handled the process of sorting and distributing the books, while a sub-committee led by the Council Deputy CEO was tasked with identifying the beneficiaries of the books.
Books were then sorted by sector (primary, secondary or higher education, etc.) and delivered to the beneficiaries.
At each beneficiary location, books were handed over to the school's head teacher and colleagues, as well as some students, which can be seen in our slide show below. Each school was represented by a spokesperson to thank the Books For Africa donors and indicate how the books will be used.
