One Million Books For Africa from the Sir Emeka Offor Foundation

Tom Warth, founder of Books For Africa, poses with children that were delighted to receive books from the Sir Emeka Offor Foundation in Nigeria.Books For Africa recently received our largest single donation ever! In May 2013, a generous donation of $600,000 was received from the Sir Emeka Offor Foundation of Nigeria.

This gift will be used to send 1,000,000 books to students in countries across the African continent including: Nigeria, The Gambia, Somalia, Liberia, Tanzania, Namibia, Senegal, Ethiopia, Kenya, Rwanda, Botswana, South Africa, Sierra Leone, Malawi, Egypt, South Sudan, and Chad.

The St. Paul Pioneer Press (St. Paul, MN, USA) featured a story about the incredible donation and our upcoming projects. Read the story here.

Here, Books For Africa executive director, Patrick Plonski, is interviewed regarding plans for how the donation will be used to distribute books across the African continent on KMSP-TV (Minneapolis/St. Pau, MN, USA).
