Power of a Book: BFA Photo Contest

Books For Africa wants to show the world the power of books, so we are holding a photo contest! Pictures should show a child or classroom in Africa that has a special connection to books - maybe they received BFA books, or maybe they are in desperate need of a school library.

Winners will be featured in our 2012 Annual Report!*

To Vote:

1. Like Books For Africa on Facebook!
2. Like your favorite photo in the “Power of a Book: BFA Photo Contest” album.

It’s as easy as that!

Photos will be added as they come in**, so make sure to check back to see all of the great pictures of the Power of a Book.

To enter:

1. Snap a picture of a child or classroom in Africa that has a special connection to books - maybe they received BFA books, or maybe they are in desperate need of a school library. Capture the power that books have or could have in a community that you know.
2. Email entries to maggie@booksforafrica.org
3. Include the name of the photographer, the location the photo was taken, and a one to two sentence description of the photograph.***
4. Tell all your friends to vote for your photo by liking BFA on Facebook and liking your photo!

The photo with the most likes wins, so make sure to have everyone you know vote!

Photo contest will be open from Monday, July 23 to Friday, September 28, 2012.

*Winners will be determined by number of likes on Facebook. Winning does not guarantee publication in the annual report, as all winning photos will be subject to BFA Executive Director approval.
