Empowering Young Minds: Books For Africa Ships out of Dubai in Partnership with 360tf, the Wasily Family Foundation

In a remarkable collaborative effort, Books For Africa partnered with 360tf and the Wasily Family Foundation to deliver the joy of reading to young minds in Senegal.

13,500 Books Tailored for Young Readers
The shipment, comprising approximately 13,500 books, was meticulously organised to ensure maximum impact. Books were sorted into three distinct age categories—3-10, 10-16, and 16+ years—making it easier for young readers to access materials best suited to their learning needs. Additionally, the books were classified into two genres: fiction and non-fiction, offering a diverse range of options to nurture both imagination and knowledge.

Mobilizing Communities for a Shared Cause
Bhakti Mundra spearheaded the initiative, inspiring students and community members to donate books generously. Her leadership extended to directly managing over 70 dedicated volunteers who meticulously adhered to Books For Africa’s guidelines. These efforts ensured that the donated books aligned with the specific needs and preferences of the recipients in Senegal. The volunteers’ commitment was unwavering as they spent countless hours sorting, categorising, and packing the books. Each box, adorned with the logos of Books For Africa and 360tf, reflected the shared vision of these organizations to bridge educational gaps and empower young readers.

From Dubai to Diomkhel Village: A Journey of Hope
Throughout the fall of 2024, this book drive gained momentum, culminating in the shipment’s departure early in January 2025. With the generous financial support of The Wasily Family Foundation, the books embarked on their journey to Diomkhel Village in rural Senegal. Here, they will serve the “Le Bon Samaritain” group, facilitating distribution to community centers and schools.

A Vision Realized
This initiative is more than just a shipment of books; it’s a testament to the power of collaboration, community involvement, and the shared goal of fostering education. As these books find their way into the hands of eager young readers, they carry with them the promise of a brighter future, igniting curiosity, and inspiring dreams in the hearts of Senegal’s youth.

This successful collaboration between Books For Africa, the Wasily Family Foundation and 360tf, sets a precedent for impactful community initiatives, proving that together, we can make a difference.
