Books For Africa has partnered with Merck & Co. to donate 52 tablets loaded with the new Merck Medical Manual mobile app! These tablets were delivered by fellows from the State Department's Young African Leadership Initiative (YALI), and will provide valuable resources to medical practitioners across the African continent.

This summer, Books For Africa was at the Rotary International convention in Atlanta June 10 - 14 to host an information booth and provide tours of our BFA warehouse. An exciting new BFA/Rotary partnership program was introduced at the convention!

On May 18, 2017, Books For Africa held its annual Words Change Worlds fundraising luncheon in St. Paul, Minnesota. This year's keynote speaker was His Excellency Ambassador Carlos Dos Santos, Mozambique’s Ambassador to the United States. We were also pleased to welcome His Excellency Maowia Khalid, Ambassador of the Republic of Sudan to the U.S., and Jeffrey Sturchio, president of the Corporate Council on Africa, as featured speakers.

Calling all golfers - Books For Africa is hosting a golf tournament to raise funds for literacy! Please join us Friday, November 4, 2016 at St. Marlo Country Club in Atlanta, GA for the 2nd annual Books For Africa Golf Challenge! Our inaugural event was a great success, sponsoring the shipment of over 42,000 to African schools and libraries. We hope to build on that achievement this year; our goal is to raise $50,000 to deliver even more books to African students and communities in need!

The University of Iringa in Tanzania recently partnered with Books For Africa to deliver a 40 foot container of books to the University Library. As is often the case with such shipments, the benefits of this project extend well beyond the University students and faculty.

Books For Africa’s Atlanta Warehouse relocated in early 2016, more than doubling the square footage in a new 66,000 square foot facility. This new space will allow BFA to better serve the organizations and individuals with whom we partner, and allow us to double down in our efforts to end the African book famine. grand opening celebration was held Saturday, June 18th, where South African Ambassador to the U.S., His Excellency Mninwa Johannes Mahlangu delivered an impassioned keynote address and formally opened the warehouse with a dedication ceremony.
