Two years ago, Amir Doctry and his students in the Global Citizens class at Renaissance at Rand Middle School began a unique project.Known as G.L.E.A.N., the Global Learning Exchange of All Nations, the project is a partnership of schools and students representing nine countries who work together to provide help to schools in Tanzania and get to know each other in the process.

Claude and Barbara Mayfield have been working with Books For Africa to bring books to rural Zimbabwe since 2012. Through leveraging high-level funding opportunities, this partnership has brought 1.4 million books and counting to the children of Zimbabwe!

Back in August of 2021, Books For Africa worked with MoneyGram to fund a 40-foot container of books for Global Kids Organisation (GKO) in Ghana, and recently heard back with feedback and photos from the distribution!

In an effort to improve the learning environment for pupils at Rwemiyenje Primary School in Rwampara district, the good Samaritans of Butakara Foundation in partnership with Africa Strong from the USA have donated 3000 textbooks and constructed buildings worth $30,000.

The KnowledgeSeed Foundation, a high school student organization based in California, set out a goal in 2021 to collect 1,600 books that they would ship to the BFA warehouse in Marietta, GA, for donation to stock the shelves of African schools and libraries. They not only met their goal, but exceeded it, with over 3,100 books donated so far.
