David Robinson, the son of baseball icon Jackie Robinson, traveled from his home on a coffee cooperative in Tanzania to visit Minnesota September 22-24 to talk about his work with Books For Africa. Robinson, who has lived in Tanzania for more than 30 years, participated earlier this year in a walk across Zanzibar, off the coast of Tanzania, led by BFA Founder Tom Warth to raise money, deliver books and help end the book famine in Africa.

As part of Books For Africa’s ongoing monitoring and evaluation process, an enhanced post-shipment survey was developed for fiscal year 2016. This direct feedback from recipients allows BFA to identify success points of our current programs, and helps pinpoint where we can improve our process to create the best possible outcomes for recipients.

Calling all golfers - Books For Africa is hosting a golf tournament to raise funds for literacy! Please join us Friday, November 4, 2016 at St. Marlo Country Club in Atlanta, GA for the 2nd annual Books For Africa Golf Challenge! Our inaugural event was a great success, sponsoring the shipment of over 42,000 to African schools and libraries. We hope to build on that achievement this year; our goal is to raise $50,000 to deliver even more books to African students and communities in need!
