Calling all golfers - Books For Africa is hosting a golf tournament to raise funds for literacy! Please join us Friday, November 4, 2016 at St. Marlo Country Club in Atlanta, GA for the 2nd annual Books For Africa Golf Challenge! Our inaugural event was a great success, sponsoring the shipment of over 42,000 to African schools and libraries. We hope to build on that achievement this year; our goal is to raise $50,000 to deliver even more books to African students and communities in need!

The University of Iringa in Tanzania recently partnered with Books For Africa to deliver a 40 foot container of books to the University Library. As is often the case with such shipments, the benefits of this project extend well beyond the University students and faculty.

Books For Africa’s Atlanta Warehouse relocated in early 2016, more than doubling the square footage in a new 66,000 square foot facility. This new space will allow BFA to better serve the organizations and individuals with whom we partner, and allow us to double down in our efforts to end the African book famine. grand opening celebration was held Saturday, June 18th, where South African Ambassador to the U.S., His Excellency Mninwa Johannes Mahlangu delivered an impassioned keynote address and formally opened the warehouse with a dedication ceremony.

Our friends at Course Hero have reached an extraordinary milestone, officially surpassing 250,000 books donated to BFA partner schools in The Gambia! These books, donated through Course Hero’s Knowledge Drive initiative, are having a direct impact on the lives of students there, giving the next generation of Gambian parents, teachers, and leaders the tools they need to excel in school.

Books For Africa has received Charity Navigator's 4-star rating for the fifth consecutive year. Charity Navigator is the country's premiere charity evaluator and rates charities on sound fiscal management and commitment to accountability and transparency.

Last week, Books For Africa held our annual Books Change Lives fundraising luncheon in St. Paul, Minnesota. This year's keynote speaker was His Excellency Ambassador Robinson Njeru Githae, Kenyan Ambassador to the United States.
