Books Delivered to the Children of Livingstone, Zambia

The Happy Africa Foundation knows just how exciting 22,000 books can be. So do the children of Zambia after a full container of books was delivered to Livingstone in January 2012! February was brimming with activity as the staff of the Happy Africa Project sorted and delivered all of the books to schools and libraries throughout the region.

BFA Founder, Tom Warth and Delegation Complete the African Book Walk in the Gambia

After 8 days, Tom Warth, BFA founder, and the group that joined him on the African Book Walk across the Gambia are on their way home. Their quick progress was astounding, even to the walkers. Tom posted a picture on facebook as they crossed the Gambia-Senegal border proclaiming “20 miles total on my pedometer!!!”

Books For Africa to Send Books To Africa Under NBA All-Star Game Celebrity Raffle

There will be more than one all star team at this year’s NBA All-Stars Game. Books For Africa will be teaming up with NBA All-Star Andre Iguodala, the International Foundation for Education and Self-Help (IFESH), Girlfriends Talk Sports (GTS) with NBA moms and the Andres Iguodala Youth Foundation (AIYF) to bring Books For Africa fans the chance to go to the 2012 NBA All-Star Game.

BFA Doubles Warehouse Capacity in Atlanta

Books For Africa is pleased to announce that we have doubled our book-processing capacity at our Atlanta warehouse. With our new and improved warehouse space, BFA will be more ready than ever to ship even more books, computers and other educational materials to students in Africa. Patrick Plonski, executive director of BFA, and BFA founder, Tom Warth, traveled to Atlanta to celebrate the warehouse expansion from January 31 and February 1. The two were all smiles as they observed just how many more books will be ready to ship from the new space.
