Books For Africa was pleased to host Her Excellency Hilda Suka-Mafudze, Ambassador of the African Union to the United States, for a conversation at the University Club of Saint Paul.

Books For Africa is pleased to partner with Global Minnesota to promote the World Food Day Symposium on October 15, a free virtual symposium to promote global awareness and action around hunger and healthy eating for all.

The African Union Ambassador to the U.S., Hilda Suka-Mafudze, will speak at a Books for Africa fundraising event Wednesday. The event will be held at the University Club at 420 Summit Ave., from 5 to 7 p.m, and will also be streamed over zoom for those who cannot or prefer not to attend in person.

Books For Africa was pleased to meet with our Nigerian partner Sir Emeka Offor in both Georgia and Washington, DC. The purpose of the meetings was to inspect books, discuss strategy, and transfer a Merck Manual tablet as part of BFA’s partnership with Merck.

Dr. Patrick Plonski loves living in St. Paul, Minnesota, but he also loves to travel. Luckily for Dr. Plonski, he found a job where he gets to do both. Dr. Plonski is the Executive Director of Books For Africa (BFA), a non-profit dedicated to collecting, sorting, shipping, and distributing books to children and adults in Africa. For over 18 years, Dr. Plonski has served Books For Africa’s mission with dedication and enthusiasm: to end the book famine in Africa. 

The Sierra Leone Book Trust has been busy distributing books just in time for the school year. This distribution included local language books and girls empowerment collections. Check out the great photos from distribution!
