Books For Africa Publishing Prints Somali Language Books

Books For Africa Publishing, BFA's publishing initiative, has custom-printed 44,000 Somali-language books for shipment to Somalia! 11,000 copies of four children's titles have been printed in partnership with the Minnesota Humanities Center and will be distributed to young students across Somalia.

Giving Children in Dadaab Refugee Camps Access to Education

BFA Container Captains Abdullahi Mire and Louis Brownstone recently arrived in Kenya to distribute 22,000 books to the schools and children of the Dadaab refugee camps, some of the largest refugee housing complexes in the world. They worked with a vast network of professionals and community representatives, including Sahra Noor, the sister of Minnesota Representative Ilhan Omar, to distribute books to schools throughout the camps.

Working Towards a Book for Every Pupil in the Dadaab Refugee Camps
