Bookmobile Project Distributes Books to Rural Schools in Kenya

Books For Africa recently completed a shipment of over 22,000 primary and secondary level books, with a total value of over a quarter million dollars, to the Bookmobile Project, in partnership with Kisii University in Kenya. The shipment consisted of primary and secondary level books that were distributed to over 70 schools in western Kenya.

Former Mayo Employee Now Works in Botswana to Build Reading Culture

When Andrea Malenya moved to Botswana, leaving behind her Mayo Clinic job and her Rochester home for a stint as a Peace Corps volunteer, it was strictly viewed as a short-term thing.  She never imagined that the South African country would become her home. Nor that her work would revolve around her love of books and helping to instill a culture of reading in the country.

Sir Emeka Offor Visits Books For Africa Atlanta Warehouse

Books For Africa Receives "Friend of the Community" Award at 8th Annual African Awards

The award recognizes BFA’s work shipping over 46 million books, serving every country in Africa, while working in close partnership with African diaspora around the world.

Thomson Reuters Law Libraries Sent to Namibia Supreme and High Courts

A collaboration between the Federal Judiciary Center, Thomson Reuters and the Books For Africa Law and Democracy Initiative resulted in the 2019 shipment of a 40ft sea container to the Namibia Ministry of Education, with more than 35,000 books to support human rights and the rule of law in the country.
